Become part of a community turning virtual reefs into the first blockchain connected living reefs around the world

We’ve always believed in collaboration over competition, and over the past six years, we’ve built an ocean family of guardians, advocates and storytellers.

As a community, we support initiatives, programmes, campaigns, and research that are working to address the many threats our ocean faces.

Every day we learn, we share, and we move forward together.

Back in 2019 we learnt about HOPE reef, the world's largest restored coral reef off the coast of Sulawesi in Indonesia, that large that you can see it from space! This reef is now blooming with 42 coral species growing within it and colour gleaming everywhere you look.

This immense reef (temporarily) spells out "hope" and shows that hope can lead to actions that save the world's oceans.

We continue to look towards organisations, brands, and individuals playing an active role in ocean conservation, leading purpose-driven initiatives to create hope and drive action.

That’s why we’re proud to be working alongside the SHEBA HOPE GROWS and Mars Sustainable Solutions team, who are leading one of the world's largest coral restoration programs.

Committed to restoring 185,000 square meters of coral reefs globally by 2029 and already operating in 7 countries, we are fully supporting the creative minds and skills of over 200 changemakers - including community leaders, restoration scientists, engineers, marketers and business leaders.

Since the very beginning of the Mars coral restoration program and in collaboration with Mars’ diverse range of partners, the restoration program has:

Installed 60,000 Reef Stars around the world, outplanting 900,000 coral fragments
Restored 80,000 square metres of coral reef globally
Installed 11,269 Reef Stars on the iconic Sheba Hope Reef, out planting 169,035 coral fragments

Since Hope Reef’s construction (which can be seen from space!):

Coral cover has increased from <5% to >70%
There has been a 10% rise in the number of fish species
There has been a 3 X increase in fish populations and a 2 X increase in fish biomass

Following on from their incredible restoration efforts on Hope Reef in Indonesia, @shebahopegrows are combining nature with tech as they plan to launch over 11,000 virtual reef NFT’s with 100% of all proceeds funding the restoration of actual reefs.

Soon you’ll be able to invest in a Virtual Reef NFT that will grow overtime just like their natural counterparts and you can watch as your own reef grows and attracts fish and other marine life. After reaching a final level, it will be tagged back to a supportive reef star in the real ocean and linked to your NFT.
